About

Hello and welcome!

I’m Ian Pain and this is my blog. I’m a Principal Database Administrator who loves writing SQL code, PowerShell or any other flavor language that interests me or allows me to create what I need.

I have worked in IT for far too many years to admit to and I have enjoyed working in a variety of roles over these years but settled into database admin, particularly MS SQL Server some 10 years ago now.

The main purpose of starting this blog was to start sharing all the scripts, tricks and other knowledge I have built up over the years in the hope that it will help someone in what they are doing.
